What does my child need to bring to the Play On Sports Sessions?

There is really no set uniform for Play On sessions, general sports clothing and runners will be fine. Many kids like to wear their favourite team’s colours and jumpers.

What age can kids participate in Play On Sports?

Ideally suited for Preps to Grade 3.

What time does Play On start and finish? 

Each Play On session reflects the needs of the community therefore start and finish times may vary from school to school.  A single Play On session runs for 45 minutes and will begin 15 minutes after the school bell.

An additional session may be held at each of the participating primary schools to cater for demand where a single session exceeds 16 participants. In this case, the second session will run immediately after the first.

How can I ensure the coaches are all accredited and have a valid Working With Children Check?

All coaches have  coaching experience and have current Working With Children Checks. If you have any further questions regarding your schools Play On Sports coach, please contact us at info@playonsports.com.au

How do the bookings work?

You can book online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via the Registration tab on the Play On website. Simply enter your  details and sign your child up for the Play On session at your selected primary school.

What happens if the weather forces the cancellation of a Play On session? (i.e- hail, thunderstorms, torrential rain)

In the event of torrential rain, hail, thunderstorms or the playing conditions are found to be unsafe and the session ultimately cancelled, Play On will immediately distribute email notifications to parents. Play On will endeavour to make up the lost session.

If the school facilities allow, the Play On sessions will instead be run indoors and will proceed as normal.

What can I expect at Play On Sports?

An example of what you can expect at a typical Play On Session includes:

  • Introduction
  • Warm up activities
  • Skills i.e. dribbling, catching, passing and shooting techniques for basket ball and Marking, Kicking, Hand balling for footy all taught in a sequential manner.
  • Grid/Modified game. Small sided games to ensure skills are taught in a fun and safe way
  • Small class sizes ensure high levels of interaction and close coach attention
  • Encouragement awards and departure.

Who can collect my child from the Play On sessions?

Play On Sports have strict requirements around signing a child out of a session. Only adults authorised by the family are permitted to leave with children ensuring safety, parental wishes and custody requirements are adhered to.

Do you charge by the hour or the session?

The fee is set per session and billed in full for the 6 (six) week program.
